Friday, March 17, 2023 – Meru Community Council of Elders commonly known as Njuri Ncheke has urged former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to call off his planned mass action, warning of a possible bloodbath.
Raila has ordered all his supporters across the country to gather in Nairobi on Monday and march to State House to evict President William Ruto who he claims is illegally in office.
Addressing journalists on Friday, Njuri Ncheke warned Raila that if he tries to force his way to State House with his supporters to allegedly reclaim his ‘stolen victory’, the country will go to the dogs.
“You can’t just walk into State House and try to evict the president, he is not like a leaf of paper to be plucked out, blood will be spilled,” said Council Secretary-General Josphat Murangiri.
In a statement to Kenyans, the elders said that Raila should be cautious about actions that could possibly plunge the country into violence.
The elders said Raila should accept that President William Ruto is the duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya.
They also threatened to curse Raila Odinga if he continues with his behavior of causing anarchy and confusion in the country.
