Friday March 17, 2023 – Azimio has responded to President William Ruto’s call for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to engage the police and agree on how he will do his planned mass action come Monday, March 20th.

Addressing the press yesterday, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi hit out at Ruto for forcing Raila to teach the police on how to do their job.

He also blasted the Head of State for warning Raila against holding demos that will paralyse business operations in the country, saying that is the work of the police.

He maintained that they will do the demos and urged the police to do their work without fear, favour or ill will.

“The call by Mr. Ruto that Raila should agree with the police on how to go about the demonstration is uncalled for.”

“The police know their duty which is to protect lives and properties of Kenyans,” he said.

“It is not the work of Raila Odinga or anyone else in Azimio to help them do their work,” Wandayi added.
