Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has sensationally claimed that he and other leaders stole the previous presidential elections in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking on Tuesday during UDA’s National Delegates Convention at Kasarani Indoor Arena, Kuria blasted President Uhuru for abandoning those who made him President in 2013 and 2017.

The Chama Cha Kazi party leader alleged that others who are now allied to DP Ruto’s camp guarded President Kenyatta’s votes and rigged the election in his favor.

“Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” (“Some people are saying that the Mt Kenya votes will be divided; Governor Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi… we are the ones who protected Uhuru’s votes and we are the one who rigged for him votes”) Kuria stated.

The outspoken legislature further said that the vote-rich Mount Kenya region would unanimously back the DP just the way they had rallied behind the UhuRuto Government in 2013.

The controversial lawmaker commended Ruto terming him a true representation of unity, as compared to the handshake between President Uhuru and the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“We have others claiming that they brought Kenyans together, nobody brings Kenyans together like William Ruto,” Kuria explained.

The Gatundu South lawmaker is not the first MP from Mt Kenya to claim that the previous elections were rigged in favor of President Uhuru.

Recently, Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege also found herself on the spot when she claimed that Raila Odinga’s previous elections were stolen.

“Kule central nimeskia hapa wengine wakisema tuliwaibia, kuna kaukweli kidogo. Lakini mjue kama tulijua kuiba si ata hii tutafanya nini…alafu…alafu”. ( In Central, I have heard here some people saying that we stole from them. There is some truth in that. They should know that if we knew how to steal then, why not in this? Will we not do something… then)” Sabina said.
