Thursday, March 10, 2022 – A video has emerged of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga using the ‘madoadoa’ phrase when he asked his supporters to vote in 6-piece for Azimio La Umoja Movement leaders.

“We want all of the Wajir candidates to be from the Azimio la Umoja movement. We’d like to make this an Azimio zone. No ‘ Madoadoa’ shall be welcomed in Wajir,” Raila said in Wajir County on Wednesday.

While the madoadoa phrase is often used to rally voters behind what is termed as six-piece voting where parties urge their constituents to elect candidates in all elective posts from their outfits, it also carries a negative connotation of ethnic cleansing.

It is not yet clear whether the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) will order for the arrest of Raila Odinga for using madoadoa remarks.

Here is the video of Raila Odinga using Madoadoa remarks.
