Wednesday, March 9, 2022 – The Kenya Kwanza Coalition leaders have confirmed the existence of a plot to rig the August elections in favour of ODM Leader Raila Odinga.
This is after Deputy President William Ruto called out the US to help him stop President Uhuru Kenyatta from rigging his victory in favour of Raila come August.
Speaking during Kenya Kwanza rallies in Mathira, Mukurweini, and Kieni, where they launched several development programs, the leaders, led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula, MPs Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Kithure Kindiki (Tharaka Nithi), Isaac Mwaura (Nominated), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) and Cate Waruguru (Laikipia) and UDA Johnson Muthama, accused Uhuru of using the Interior Ministry to advance Raila Odinga’s political agenda.
The leaders revealed that Interior PS Karanja Kibicho last month asked administrators to campaign for President Uhuru’s handshake partner Raila Odinga.
They claimed that the National Government Administration Office had been instructed, through a circular, to form a multi-sectoral election preparedness team to popularize Raila’s presidential bid.
“Kibicho in a letter dated February 23, asked all County Commissioners, Deputy County Commissioners, Chiefs, and the Assistants to form Regional County and sub-county multi-sectoral election preparedness forums,” said Kithure Kindiki.
Kindiki, however, warned Kibicho that forming such forums will land him in trouble.
On his part, Wetangula warned state officers that they would be held liable if they participated in the meetings.
“You [Kibicho] will find yourself in trouble. You are intruding into the IEBC mandate. Your letter to public servants last month is illegal,” Wetangula stated.
