Thursday, March 10, 2022 – Baringo Senator and KANU National Chairman Gideon Moi has vowed to do the unthinkable to anyone found guilty of corruption.
Speaking at the Kabarnet Gardens in Nairobi during the launch of KANU’s manifesto, Gideon said his party will impose the death penalty on people convicted of graft if it assumes power in August.
He stated that the upcoming General Election will be an opportunity to uphold the dignity of Kenyans.
In KANU’s manifesto, which was based on five economic pillars, the party will tackle corruption by sealing the theft of public resources by imposing the death penalty on graft convicts.
The five pillars included devolution, social infrastructure, sustainable economy, citizen responsibility and greening Kenya.
“Under the sustainable economy (Uchumi na Kazi), we envisage to enhance manufacturing by rebuilding the economy from the grassroots in labour-intensive sectors such as agriculture, livestock, and mining for job creation,” the Baringo senator stated.
The senator took it to Twitter to emphasize that his party is back to business in revitalizing Kenya’s economy.
“We are #BackToBusiness as KANU. We have outlined in our manifesto sustainable and time-bound policies and plan of actions to revitalize the economy through massive industrialisation; green Kenya through climate action; and re-engineer our social infrastructure to restore decency,” Gideon tweeted.
This came even as Gideon joined Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja ahead of the upcoming August 9 polls.
