Tuesday, March 15, 2022 – Kieni Member of Parliament, Kanini Kega, has dismissed claims that One Kenya Alliance (OKA) joined former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Movement on Saturday.
Kalonzo Musyoka, on Monday, claimed OKA joined Azimio and the new name of the coalition is Azimio La Umoja –One Kenya Alliance.
But speaking on Tuesday, Kega laughed off Kalonzo’s claims and said Azimio didn’t sign an agreement with OKA but they signed agreements with parties such as KANU, UDM and 24 other parties.
“It is a coalition of parties, it is not a coalition of coalitions. The law that we passed is a parties coming together forming the coalition, not coalitions forming a coalition,” Kega said.
However, Kega said that this should not be seen to mean that cracks have begun emerging in the alliance, stating that what matters the most is that Kalonzo and the others have come together.
