Sunday, March 6, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to ensure controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna returns to the country from exile in Canada if he is elected President in August.
Speaking on Saturday when he arrived in the United Kingdom from the United States, Ruto said Miguna is a Kenyan and blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government for deporting him in 2018.
Miguna was deported to Canada for participating in the mock swearing-in ceremony of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as people’s president at Uhuru Park on January 31st, 2018.
“We will bring Miguna Miguna back to the country within the shortest time possible.
“This is because he is a Kenyan, he hasn’t committed any crime and even if he has, we have laws in place that he would be tried against,” Ruto said.
