Thursday, March 3, 2022 – Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has shocked his Mulembe Nation following his recent remarks.
This is after he disqualified himself from being Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate come August.
In a tweet, Wetangula told Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua that he is not interested in deputizing Ruto in August, something that may not go down well with the Luhya Nation, which was hoping to bag the position since he and ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi joined the DP.
The Ford Kenya party leader said the recently formed Kenya Kwanza coalition is not about sharing positions in the government that would be formed.
He said the Kenya Kwanza coalition’s main agenda was to ensure equitable resource sharing, as well as service delivery to all Kenyans regardless of their status.
“Kenya Kwanza Alliance is not about sharing positions but service to Kenyans, inter alia, revival, and growth of the economy, reduction of the debt nightmare, restoration of dignity to our farmers, creation of an equitable society and other pro-people programs,” Wetang’ula said in a Tweet.
Wetang’ula was responding to Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks on William Ruto’s choice of running mate for the August 9th presidential election.
While appearing on a morning television program, Rigathi insisted that William Ruto’s running mate must come from the vote-rich Mt Kenya region and not Western.
