Tuesday, March 15, 2022 – KANU Chairman, Gideon Moi, has surprised Kenyans after reports emerged that he will not be contesting for Baringo County senatorial seat in August.
According to Moi’s close lieutenants, the KANU boss has decided to focus his energy on national politics.
“I want to make it obvious that Gideon Moi will not run for re-election in the August 9 elections since he is focused on national politics,” read the statement.
“Baringo, to be precise. Any interested candidate is encouraged to apply and use Kanu as their political vehicle in the General Election. We haven’t fielded a candidate yet, but there’s still time.”
Another ally reiterated these comments, saying, “The Chairman is now playing in the English Premier League; he cannot return to local leagues.’ He’s now concentrating on domestic politics.”
Other sources said Moi might be named as former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s running mate during the August 9th Presidential election.
