Thursday, March 10, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto’s lieutenants have called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to immediately order the arrest of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga after he used incitement language in Wajir County on Wednesday.
Raila, who was popularising his bid in the expansive county, asked residents to vote in 6-piece leaders for the Azimio La Umoja Movement.
“We want all of the Wajir candidates to be from the Azimio la Umoja movement. We’d like to make this an Azimio zone. No ‘ Madoadoa’ shall be welcomed in Wajir,” Raila said.
Ruto’s allies led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Soy Member of Parliament, Caleb Kositany, asked DCI and DPP to move with speed and arrest Raila Odinga for using madoadoa remarks.
“Raila Odinga is in Wajir today. Let the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) act as quickly as they did in the case of Mithika Linturi to demonstrate the rule of law and, in particular, equality before the law, “Murkomen wrote on his Twitter page.
Kositany, on his part, asked the relevant investigative agencies to arrest Raila for inciting Kenyans.
