Tuesday, March 1, 2022 – Lawyer Cliff Ombeta has sparked reactions after he was spotted in a meeting with Kisii Senator, Professor Sam Ongeri, who is allied to ODM Leader Raila Odinga and his Azimio La Umoja movement.
Ombeta, who had declared that he will vie for the Bonchari parliamentary seat on the UDA ticket, may soon ditch Ruto’s party, following his meeting with the veteran politician.
ODM, which is led by Raila Odinga, is still the most popular party in Kisii County.
Word has it that most politicians allied to UDA in the region are planning to ditch the Ruto-allied party for ODM.
UDA National treasurer Omingo Magara has already quit the party.
Magara said he ditched UDA after considerable reflection and consultation with his supporters.
