Friday, March 11, 2022 – An opinion poll has shown the presidential candidate who will garner the majority of Meru County vote during the August 9th Presidential election.
On Wednesday, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is vying for president in August, received a huge boost after Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi endorsed his bid.
Kiraitu further said his Devolution Empowerment Party popularly known as the MBUS party, will join Raila’s Azimio La Umoja Movement.
“We have done the research, talked to opponents and listened to confidential reports. I can confidently tell you that the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya is no other than Raila Odinga,” Murungi said.
After Kiraitu endorsed Raila, Mizani Africa conducted an opinion poll and asked Meru residents who they will support for the presidency between Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto, and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
68 percent of the residents said they will support Ruto while 28.1 percent said they will support Raila Odinga.
“Kalonzo came a distant third with only 2.1 percent. 0.9 percent were undecided while 0.9 percent supported other presidential candidates.
