Friday, February 18, 2022 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again suffered a major blow after 25 Jubilee Party MCAs dumped the ruling party and joined Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Friday.
In a Facebook post, Mathira Member of Parliament Hon. Rigathi Gachagua said the MCAs decision to join Ruto’s UDA camp was a result of the fact that the ruling party has lost the ground in the Mt Kenya region and there was no need to force things.
“We have today morning received the Speaker of the Nyeri County Assembly, his Deputy, Majority Leader and 25 elected MCAs into the Hustler Nation and UDA Party; leaving our former party Jubilee as a shell. The MCAs have listened to the ground and aligned themselves to where the people of Nyeri County are.
“We have assured the members of free, fair, and credible nominations, where only the most popular aspirant will get the Party’s ticket,” Gachagua said..
