Wednesday, February 16, 2022 – President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has dismissed reports that it has rejected Ann Ngirita, one of the National Youth Service (NYS) II scandal suspects.
In a statement issued by Jubilee Party Secretary-General, Raphael Tuju, the ruling party said all members who had moved to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party are welcome to their home, Jubilee.
Ngirita, who was recently associated with UDA, on Tuesday, disclosed she had changed her mind and will now vie for the Nakuru Woman Representative position on a Jubilee ticket.
“Every UDA member coming back home is most welcome,” Tuju said.
Earlier in the day, Jubilee party regional director Peter Cheruiyot said Ngirita would be required to visit the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, DCI and KRA for clearance before allowing her to join the party.
But Tuju said Ngirita, who is accused of looting over Sh 200 million from NYS, is free to join Jubilee Party and Azimio La Umoja Movement.
“She is free to join the ruling party,” Tuju said.
