Tuesday, February 8, 2022 – ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi has set the record straight as to why he joined Deputy President William Ruto after many years of friendship with ODM Leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Vihiga County, his home ground, while popularising the yet to be formed Kenya Kwanza Coalition ahead of the August 2022 elections, Mudavadi disclosed that he teamed up with Ruto after getting tired of helping Raila.
According to the ANC Leader, the support he had accorded Raila earlier was enough and it was time to move on.
While recalling how he helped Raila in 2007 and 2017, the former One Kenya Alliance (OKA) co-principal instead said that the former Prime Minister owes him a political debt for supporting him in the past elections.
“Mimi nimesaidia Raila bana nmechoka.”
“I have supported Raila for a long and it is time I make my own plans moving forward with the people of Kenya in mind.
“I urge my foot soldiers to remain steadfast and make sure the entire region is painted in Kenya Kwanza Alliance colours,” Mudavadi said.
Besides, Mudavadi noted that he dumped Raila and opted to work with new friends because Baba betrayed him.
“We have stood with Raila for many years but he has always betrayed us but this time we have decided to work with like-minded friends with whom we share the same interests and vision which is to help the people of Kenya,” said Mudavadi.
