Tuesday, February 1, 2022 – Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has responded to Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General, Francis Atwoli, who claimed that Deputy President William Ruto has deserted him two weeks after joining him.
Mudavadi and Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula joined DP Ruto on January 23 and pledged to work together ahead of the August 9th presidential election.
However, Atwoli claimed that Mudavadi and Wetangula have been dumped by Ruto and he is now looking for more partners in Mt Kenya.
But in a statement on Tuesday, Mudavadi dismissed Atwoli’s claims and urged him to wake up from his slumber and admit the reality that the Luhya nation was no longer wrapped around his fingers.
“The inconsequential Atwoli and a bevy of his inane cheerleaders must wake up to the reality of our times that the Luhya nation will never be hoodwinked again to “steal political beeps” at the lake! Never!” read the statement in part.
Mudavadi further stated that the Luhya nation would not be coaxed into supporting the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga and insisted that Atwoli should desist from insulting him as his jibes will not undermine his quest for the presidency.
