Monday, January 24, 2022 – Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has never invited him and other OKA principals to State House to ask them to support ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
Speaking during an interview, Wetangula revealed that in all the meetings OKA principals have had with the president, he only expressed his desire to see them work together ahead of the August general elections.
“We have met the president as the OKA team on our own and also together with Raila Odinga and his desire was to see that the two teams work together and form a political synergy.
“I seriously believe he still wants that,” Wetangula stated.
The Bungoma Senator said that though the talks between the president and the OKA team to unite with Raila are still ongoing, nothing of substance has been formed.
He said that though time is running up for the president to unite the two political factions, Uhuru was still optimistic to see that they work together.
The seasoned politician also revealed that sometimes the president only invites them to the State House not just to talk politics but also to help him welcome some of his state visitors.
“He sometimes invites us to banquets with visiting Heads of State not to discuss politics but welcome the president of a friendly country.
“It shows his desire to see us seated together for whatever reason. We will probably give him an early Christmas,” he said.
