Saturday, January 29, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed reports in one of the local dailies that he has already signed a power-sharing deal with Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula.
On Saturday, a daily associated with KANU Chairman Gideon Moi indicated that Ruto, with his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, will produce the president, deputy president, Nairobi’s deputy governor, Nairobi’s senator, Trans-Nzoia senator, among other powerful positions.
Mudavadi would be given the position of chief minister, devolution and Finance Ministry, among other powerful positions.
Wetangula, on his part, will be given two ministries, a free run in the Bungoma senatorial race and to produce Bungoma gubernatorial candidates among other positions.
However, reacting to the reports, UDA Chairman Johnstone Muthama described the reports as mere propaganda being facilitated by their opponents
Muthama urged Kenyans to treat such news as fake as there are no such agreements in Kenya Kwanza.
“Kenyans should be aware of fake and paid news artificial intelligence which is increasingly being used by our opponents as a political tool to manipulate and dictate mwananchi.
“There’s no such agreement in the Kenya Kwanza movement,” Muthama stated.
