Thursday, January 27, 2022 – Barely a week after ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi caused an ‘earthquake’ by partnering with Deputy President William Ruto in a decision that jostled his friends Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi, details have emerged indicating that the ANC Leader left OKA a long time and was just but mark-timing.

According to a local daily, Mudavadi registered a new political alliance months before he officially quit OKA to join Ruto last Sunday.

Mudavadi wrote to the Registrar of Political Parties in October last year to preserve the name, Kenya Kwanza as the name of his political coalition.

The daily intimated that it is after the registration of Kenya Kwanza that other OKA principals including Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Gideon Moi (KANU) started having trust issues with Mudavadi.

At the time, the name ‘One Kenya’ was preserved under Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s name.

Speaking in Nakuru yesterday, DP Ruto revealed that his party, UDA, Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya and Mudavadi’s ANC will work under one umbrella called Kenya Kwanza.

Ruto said that the coalition will be the vehicle they will use to steer their presidential bid as well as the implementation of their agenda if they form the next government.

“Kenya Kwanza is a coalition whose main agenda is to guard the constitution and not to benefit a few individuals.

“I want to tell you that we have joined hands with Ford Kenya and the ANC because we have a good plan for this country,” Ruto said.

“Our unity with other party has been informed by the idea that we must come together to improve our country’s economy,” he added.
