Wednesday, January 26, 2022 – Ford Kenya Secretary-General Chris Wamalwa has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga of neglecting the Western region’s development agenda.
Speaking during an interview, Wamalwa said Mudavadi had no option but to forge a new political relationship with Deputy President William Ruto that will benefit the Luhya Community.
According to Wamalwa, the move was a result of broken promises by Uhuru and Raila to the Western region.
He pointed out that the Western region’s development agenda has not been given priority by Uhuru’s administration during his tenure as the Head of State.
“The Mulembe nation has been fooled enough and they have decided to look for friends who are trustworthy, who can be able to improve the welfare of the people,” Wamalwa said.
The Kiminini lawmaker further accused Raila of sidelining the Western region during a ‘handshake’ with President Kenyatta.
“The Jubilee government has never done anything. At the moment, we have the handshake; Mudavadi and Wetangula were together with Raila in NASA but this was not a trusted friend.”
“The little goodies that Raila managed to get from the handshake went to the Nyanza region and the Western region never benefitted,” Wamalwa said.
