Tuesday, January 25, 2022 – Renowned City Lawyer, Steve Ogolla, has sensationally claimed that ODM Leader Raila Odinga may not win the much-awaited August 9 presidential election.
This is after ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi joined Deputy President William Ruto’s camp as he swore never to work with Baba again.
Venting on social media, Ogolla, an advocate of the High Court, argued that Mudavadi’s partnership with Ruto’s UDA will without a doubt deny Raila the Western Kenya votes needed to help him succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“With (Musalia) Mudavadi and (Moses) Wetangula gone, and Mt Kenya looking shaky, you would have to stretch optimism to breaking point to see how Baba (Raila Odinga) will win this thing (the presidency),” Ogolla said in a Facebook post.
According to him, for Raila to win the hotly anticipated presidential election, he needs to consolidate former National Super Alliance strongholds.
NASA strongholds included the Western region which was fronted by Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi, Nyanza region, the coastal region, and the Ukambani region.
“To win the presidency, Baba (Raila Odinga) needed to consolidate the former NASA voting block and work to get appreciable support from Mt Kenya,” he said.

With Mudavadi and Wetangula gone, and Mt. Kenya looking perilous, you’d have to stretch optimism to breaking point to see how Baba will win this thing.” he added.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Canada-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna, who said that Raila Odinga will scoop less than 15 percent of the total votes cast in the Western region, which cannot help him ascend to power.
