Sunday, January 23, 2022 – Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi and presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi walked out of Musalia Mudavadi’s event at the Bomas of Kenya on Sunday afternoon.

The trio stormed out after Deputy President William Ruto and his UDA allied leaders arrived at the auditorium hosting the much-publicized event.

The presence of Ruto and his lieutenants added credence to speculation that Mudavadi could be teaming up with the DP ahead of the August 9 General Election.

Some of the UDA allied legislators in attendance include Murang’a Senator Irungu Kangata, Mumias East MP Ben Washiali, Kimili MP Didmus Barasa, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang and Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago.

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, Laikipia Women Representative Cate Waruguru, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa were also in attendance.

Shortly after Kalonzo and Moi walked out, KANU political affairs secretary and OKA spokesperson Fredrick Okango, stated, through a tweet, that OKA could not condone Mudavadi’s political games and wished the ANC leader all the best.

“OKA has today walked out of Mudavadi’s ‘earthquake’ meeting.

“We are moving to higher grounds where Kenyans are safer. It is a wrap with nasty political games,” wrote Okango.

“We would like to wish Mudavadi the best of luck as he joins his other partners. There is no room for damages,” he added.
