Wednesday, January 26, 2022 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to use all his negotiation skills to ensure Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalua Mudavadi, doesn’t work with Deputy President William Ruto.

On Sunday, Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula pledged to work with the Deputy President ahead of the August 9th election.

Mudavadi’s decision to join Ruto angered Uhuru, who said he was disappointed with the turn of events.

Uhuru, who spoke at State House, Nairobi, when he met Luhya community leaders, however, said he will try to reach out to Mudavadi and convince him to abandon Ruto and join former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja movement.

Uhuru said Raila Odinga is the best-placed candidate to succeed him since his development and democratic credentials speak for themselves.

“The President was categorical that Kenyans will be in the safe hands of Raila than any other presidential candidate,” said a source who attended the meeting.
