Monday June 22, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto was among Jubilee Party members who attended Monday’s Parliamentary Group meeting that was held at KICC and which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The meeting ended by firing Deputy President William Ruto’s ally, Aden Duale, as Majority Leader in the National Assembly and he was replaced by Kipipiri MP, Amos Kimunya.
Speaking after the meeting, Nominated MP David ole Sankok confirmed that Ruto was indeed present at the meeting and was accorded a chance to speak and so were all the other leaders.
Sankok revealed that the DP said absolutely nothing when he was given time to speak.
He further confirmed that all the leaders were required to leave phones outside the door as is normal practice when the Head of State orders a closed-door meeting.
“All of us were allowed to speak and Ruto was given a chance and he said he had nothing to say.”
“We were allowed to vote by Ays and Nays.”
“It is normal practice that when the Head of State is giving an address, no one is allowed to enter with a phone.”
“We were over 200 and imagine if everyone was using their phone, it would be a distraction,” stated Sankok.
