Tuesday June 2, 2020 – ODM leader, Raila Odinga, through Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, has hit out at Amani National Congress party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, over his remarks following the ouster of Senator Moses Wetang’ula as the Ford Kenya party leadership.
Mudavadi accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) boss, Francis Atwoli, of being behind the ouster of Wetang’ula on Sunday.
But in a quick rejoinder, Sifuna said Mudavadi’s claims were baseless and uniformed as far as running political parties is concerned.
“Mudavadi has never been in a party long enough to understand the dynamics that inform the choices of its membership, and has generally run parties so small that no voices of dissent can be heard,” said Sifuna.
According to Sifuna, FORD Kenya party members such as Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and MPs Wafula Wamunyinyi (Kanduyi) and Eseli Simiyu (Tongaren) were better placed to discuss and take action against their party leader.
He noted that Mudavadi should instead concentrate on his political affairs as he has been doing in the past few days by meeting several leaders without anybody raising any questions about it.
Sifuna went further to describe Mudavadi as a spectacular failure who “has no right to lecture anyone on political choices, given the catalogue of failures from his own choices since 2002.”
The Raila Odinga-led political outfit further described Mudavadi as an opportunist who “prefers to be the hyena that follows a man, hoping his hands will fall.”
