Wednesday, June 17, 2020 – Veteran Kenyan rapper and showbiz guru, Jackson Ngechu, better known as CMB Prezzo, has been in the music industry for close to two decades now.

The flamboyant rapper known for his lavish lifestyle has been opening up on his journey so far and revealed the other side of him that was hitherto unknown to the public.

In a series of interviews by Astar, the founder of CTA Youtube Channel, Prezzo has revealed that he was once a Mungiki Youth leader.

According to the Naleta Action hit-maker, former Mungiki leader, Maina Ngenja, approached him when he was in a dark place mentally and he took the opportunity.

On joining Mungiki, Prezzo said:

“I receive a call after a year and this brother called Brother Andrew told me Chairman would like to meet you.”

“And he´s like ¨Maina Njenga would like to meet you¨.

“I was asking myself so many questions”

¨I was like what is it that Chairman wants to talk to me about?”

“So we went to Karen and Maina Njenga had this movement and he wanted me to be the youth leader of the Mungikis.”

“And who am I to say no?”

“We kick it with Mheshimiwa Maina Njenga, he gives me his vision and how things are supposed to go and I tell him cool.”

“He put me in a situation and said he is giving me responsibilities and I became a bit shaken.”

However, he later ditched Maina Njenga after he was chosen to represent Kenya in the now-defunct Big Brother Africa and his life turned around.
