Friday June 5, 2020 – Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP), Moses Kuria, is causing ripples across the country.
He seems to be rivaling President Uhuru Kenyatta as far as gaining control of the National Assembly is concerned.
Barely two days after Uhuru sacked a number of Deputy President William Ruto’s allies from plum jobs after a State House meeting where a number of MPs attended, Kuria has also marshalled his troops ready to face Uhuru head on.
The Gatundu South legislator marshalled 119 MPs to support his bid to stop Uhuru’s allies from ousting National Majority Leader, Aden Duale, from his job.
Taking to social media, Kuria revealed names of 119 MPs, including Women Reps from various Counties, who are ready to go against Uhuru and his mandarins in the case of Duale.
He admitted that the 119 numbers will grow and urged Kieni MP, Kanini Kega, to produce a list of those against Duale.
“There are 119 MPs supporting Duale as of now, and I have not counted the 12 who were with him in the morning.”
“They have not signed documents, we are just expressing solidarity.”
“We are telling Kanini here we are, now table yours,” Kuria stated.
The bulk of the names he revealed were from Tanga Tanga who have pledged their support for Deputy President William Ruto.
Despite the large numbers at Duale’s disposal, it might be a case of counting the chicks before they hatch as it was proven in the ouster of Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki.
Kieni MP, Kanini Kega, noted on Wednesday, June 3rd that he had collected 115 signatures, and still counting, to remove Majority Leader Aden Duale.
