Monday June 8, 2020 – Registrar of Political Parties, Anne Nderitu, has finally gazette the change of officials in Ford Kenya Party, thereby putting the final nail in the coffin of Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, who was the party leader.
In the gazette notice dated June 8th, Wetangula has been replaced by Kanduyi MP, Wafula Wamunyinyi, in the new line-up.
The new changes also listed Josephine Maungu as the new National Organising Secretary replacing Chris Mandu.
Nderitu said that anybody with any written submission concerning the intended changes by the political party shall within seven days deposit them with the Registrar of Political Parties.
Ford Kenya’s NEC resolved last week to dismiss Wetang’ula as the party leader, citing gross misconduct.
Among the things Wetangula is accused of is engaging in a gold smuggling racket where he posed as a gold merchant and conned the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Makhtoum, over 300 million shillings.
