Friday, June 26, 2020 – Embattled Sirisia MP John Waluke once bragged how MPs take bribes to skew reports.
Speaking at Parliament Buildings to the media, Waluke, who was sentenced to seven years in prison with an alternative of KSh 727 million fine after he was found guilty in a KSh 297 million fraud case on Thursday, stated that only God can refuse a bribe.
He also admitted that he has received bribes on several occasions ranging from KSh 100,000 to KSh 200,000, depending on the task he was supposed to play.
“All of us have received something, I think we need to be honest…Sometimes we receive KSh 100,000 0r KSh 200, 000, it depends…
“Even you can you refuse money? It is only God who cannot,” he said.
Waluke, who was sentenced alongside Grace Wakhungu, the sister to former Vice President Moody Awori and mother of Judy Wakhungu, the current Kenyan Ambassador to France, risks losing his seat should he fail to pay the Ksh727 million fine.
