Tuesday June 9, 2020 – Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, will be partyless next week if what nominated MP, Godfrey Osotsi, said on Tuesday is anything to go by.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, Osotsi said Musalia Mudavadi’s term as ANC party leader expires next Monday on June 15th.
Osotsi said that as the founder of ANC, the party’s constitution provides that leaders hold office for five years after which an election should be done.
The legislator also distanced himself from claims of removing Mudavadi from the party’s leadership saying those behind the plot are looking for a scapegoat to take the party to Deputy President William Ruto.
“I do not need to plan to take over the party because I am the founder and I have all the documents,” he said.
According to the nominated MP, the current ANC officials took over in June 2015 and the five years elapse on Monday.
