Sunday June 14, 2020 – Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has dismissed claims that he and Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, have joined Deputy President William Ruto’s camp in readiness for the 2022 presidential race.
In a statement issued by ANC Secretary General, Barrack Muluka, Mudavadi said it was mere propaganda that he had joined William Ruto.
“For avoidance of doubt, no such matter was discussed at all.”
“It is also true that there were no reporters from the Nation, or elsewhere, at the event.”
“The source of this misleading story is, therefore, the rumour mill.”
“Regarding 2022, we will cross that bridge in good time.”
“For now, we are aware that the Deputy President aspires to ascend to the presidency as do Wetangula and Mudavadi.”
“They are all potential competitors for the same prize,” Muluka added.
On Saturday, most local dailies reported that Mudavadi and Wetang’ula had announced plans to join hands with the Deputy President.
