Friday June 12, 2020 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to tour his Mt. Kenya amid a rebellion from Deputy President William Ruto’s allies who have since developed cold feet as a result of the President’s purge within Jubilee which is targeting the DP.
Yesterday, Uhuru sent his trusted CS, Dr. Fred Matiangi, to Meru to prepare his visit.
Matiangi was accompanied by Meru Governor, Kiraitu Murungi, and they have already identified new projects that will revitalize Kenya’s economy that the President will launch during his visit.
“You cannot go to the President first before we clear issues with Matiang’i and to make sure there are projects for Uhuru to come and launch.”
“We want to complete some projects so that we be prepared for his visit.”
“He promised us that he will visit and as soon as Coronavirus is curbed, we shall see to it that he tours our county,” Kiraitu stated.
Kenyatta and ODM leader, Raila Odinga, were reportedly forced to postpone their visit to Mount Kenya region from April to the period between June and December 2020 after learning that a section of political leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto was planning to orchestrate a rebellion against them.
