Friday June 5, 2020 – Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, has disclosed that he met different stakeholders on Thursday where they deliberated on how to reopen the economy even as the number of coronavirus cases continues to rise.
Speaking on Friday, Matiangi said that he met various stakeholders including specialists from University of Nairobi (UoN), the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) to deliberate on how to reopen the economy gradually.
“After engaging JKUAT, UoN school of medicine and KEMRI team, and most importantly our security team, we have a report that will be handed over to President Uhuru,” Matiangi told reporters.
“We have prepared a report but cannot divulge its details because we were sent by the President, we will hand it over to him,” Matiangi added.
At the same time, Education CS George Magoha also announced that the report on school reopening had been completed and will be given to President Uhuru Kenyatta for further consideration.
