Monday June 8, 2020 – Jubilee Party Chief Whip, Emmanuel Wangwe, has said the ruling party will soon convene a Parliamentary Group meeting to discuss the conduct of Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, Aden Duale.
Addressing journalists on Monday, Wangwe, who is also the Navakholo MP, confirmed that he had received a petition signed by 126 MPs seeking to remove Duale as the House Majority Leader.
The petition, he said, has since been forwarded to the party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“After consulting with the party leader and the party, it has been decided that the Secretary General Raphael Tuju will communicate when the meeting will take place,” said Wangwe.
He was accompanied by new Deputy Whip Maoka Maore.
The leaders said the petition had followed the due procedure.
The leaders, however, did not make public the grounds for Duale’s removal saying it was captured in the petition.
