Saturday June 20, 2020 – The move by Deputy President William Ruto to form his own party that resembles Jubilee in many aspects has rattled State House the wrong way, with President Uhuru Kenyatta now breathing fire.

Speaking yesterday, Kieni MP, Kanini Kega, who is one of Uhuru’s closest allies, said that DP Ruto and his allies were risking their positions in the party because they may be kicked out for supporting a different ideology.

“Jubilee sponsored them to Parliament.”

“If found to have formed a new party, we will expel them as stipulated by the party’s Constitution,” Kega proclaimed.

This comes even at it emerged that two Kenyans had reached out to the Registrar of Political Parties, Anne Nderitu, inquiring about the reservation for the Jubilee Asili name.

“They are unknown people.”

“I cannot share their details and I cannot know who is behind them.”

“What I can tell you is that they are common names you will find on Kenyan streets. Who knows, they could be speculators,” Nderitu detailed.

Jubilee Deputy Secretary-General and Ruto’s ally, Caleb Kositany, declared that they will register the party with a new name if attempts to register Jubilee Asili are blocked.

“A name is just a name.”

“If they register it, we can still pick another one and we are not short of options.”

“It is time for those who were rejected at the Jubilee headquarters to express their mind,” Kositany stated.
