Thursday June 11, 2020 – Kimilili MP, Didmus Barasa, has hinted that he was considering running for high office in the upcoming 2022 General Elections.
Speaking yesterday, Barasa, however, noted that he will have to consult with his constituents.
“The sky is the limit.”
“I go where my constituents will ask me to go.”
“When it comes to decisions, I consult my people.”
“I might run for Governor of Bungoma County if all factors are constant…only if there will be circumstances that will not make me face Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka or Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.”
“If it’s anybody else, I will roll up my sleeves and send them home as early as 7.30 am,” he pronounced.
Speaking on whether Jubilee will still be his party of choice, he stated that this will depend on its manifesto and leadership.
He accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of mutilating the Jubilee Party with his recent purges for his selfish gain.
“In terms of party, it all depends on the manifesto.”
“Jubilee is being mutilated by political wheeler-dealers interested in getting rich quickly,” he criticized.
He accused them of using the fact that they operate within Harambee House corridors to swindle contractors and international investors.
