Tuesday June 9, 2020 – Lugari MP, Ayub Savula, has revealed how former Prime Minister Raila Odinga attempted to oust ANC Leader, Musalia Mudavadi, from his party in vain.
Speaking yesterday, Savula claimed that a top official from Raila Odinga’s ODM party approached him and presented a plan on how they will overthrow Musalia Mudavadi from his Amani National Congress Party (ANC).
Savula, who also serves as the ANC Deputy Party Leader, revealed that he was enticed with the possibility of a lucrative role in the next elections.
“I have received an invitation by our affiliate party in NASA through one of the top officials that I engage in some activities against my party leader, Musalia Mudavadi.”
“The gist of the matter is that they have arranged some ANC delegates that were to help me overthrow my party leader,” he explained.
Savula went on to maintain that he has always stood by his party leader for more than a decade, adding that his loyalty will not falter.
“The aim of this issue is to destabilize Musalia in the Western region by using the excuse that the ANC leader is working with Deputy President William Ruto,” Savula elaborated.
His revelation comes after several reports surfaced online claiming that there was an hour-long meeting between MPs allied to Mudavadi on Monday morning, June 1st, at the DP’s official residence in Karen before DP Ruto attended Madaraka Day celebrations in State House, Nairobi.
The Lugari legislator was swift to distance himself from the alleged meeting.
“As a party, we are messing things up when we appear to be meeting Ruto against the wishes of the President,” he said, noting that the party leadership should avoid diversionary antics and focus on rebuilding, for future political contests.
“Our focus should be on the 2022 election and not to undermine the President,” he stated.
