Saturday, June 27, 2020 – Renowned political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, now seems to be a shadow of his former self going by comments he made on social media after the Senate committee acquitted Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Mumbi Waiguru.
According to the committee led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, the MCAs resorted to impeaching Waiguru as a result of an acrimonious, contemptuous and cold relationship between the Assembly on the one hand and the County Governor on the other.
This, the committee said, had threatened to grind the County to a halt.
“It is inconceivable that in these circumstances the people of Kirinyaga County can be enjoying the benefits of a Devolved Government that the Constitution of Kenya avails.”
“Urgent measures require to be taken to bring the two protagonists to the table to find an amicable solution,” part of the committee report read.
Sharing his thoughts via social media after Waiguru’s acquittal, Mutahi told Waiguru never to give up and continue what she was doing to the Kirinyaga electorate.
“To Anne Waiguru: “…If you DID not ENCOUNTERED the DEVIL today, it is BECAUSE you are WALKING in the SAME Direction” If you cannot RUN, Walk. If you cannot WALK, crawl. Whatever you do, KEEP Going. NEVER give in to GROUP THINK!,” Mutahi said.
