Friday, June 26, 2020 – Revered Nairobi based lawyer, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, has said he has no apology to make after he was linked to the Sh 313 million scandal at the National Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB).
In the scandal that shocked the entire nation, Ahmednasir was mentioned as one of the lawyers who were paid huge sums of money from the board’s coffers
According to documents availed to Kenyans, the flamboyant lawyer was paid Sh 40 million for fake legal services he offered to NCPB.
However, in his defense, Ahmednasir admitted receiving the money but said he was paid because of legal services he offered to NCPB at the Court of Appeal.
“You don’t know what you are talking about…I was instructed to as lead the lawyer to lead the lawyer on record in two applications before the court of appeal.I was successful in both…I charged fees and was paid.. I have zero apology for that,” he said.
Others who received the money in the Sh 313 million scam were Sirisia MP, Waluke (Sh 50 million), Businesswoman Grace Wakhungu (Sh 40 million), former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Barasa (Sh 5 million) and an unknown person (Sh 117 million).
On Thursday, Milimani Law Courts magistrate, Elizabeth Juma, found Waluke and Wakhungu guilty of defrauding NCPB.
The Magistrate fined Major Waluke and Wakhungu Sh 707 million who in default will serve seven years imprisonment each.
