Monday June 24, 2020 – Renowned scholar and columnist, Prof Makau Mutua, has congratulated Garissa Town MP, Aden Duale, for acting as a gentleman when he was fired as Majority Leader on Monday.
In a Parliamentary Group meeting chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, Duale was shown the door and his position taken by Kipipiri MP, Amos Kimunya.
Sharing his thoughts via social on Tuesday, Mutua drew comparison between Duale and Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who suffered a similar fate in the Senate when Jubilee Party sacked him as the Majority Leader.
Mutua noted that Duale bravely accepted his fate with less drama and shenanigans unlike Murkomen who he said was yet to move on to an ordinary Senator.
“Garissa Township MP Aden Duale took his sacking as leader of majority with class like a man.”
“Unlike Murkomen who’s been kicking and screaming since he was dispatched as leader of the majority in the Senate.”
“Your future is bright Mr Duale!” Makau said.
Duale and Murkomen were removed for associating themselves with Tanga Tanga activities, a phantom organization associated with Deputy President William Ruto.
