Saturday June 27, 2020 – Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has showered her husband and Lawyer, Kamotho Waiganjo, with praises for leading a robust defence team against her impeachment charges.
Speaking after she was cleared of any wrong doing by the Senate, Waiguru praised Waiganjo, saying he was he was a gift sent to her by God himself.
“Special thanks to my husband who has been amazingly supportive throughout this process.”
“A friend of mine recently said that there are husbands from heaven and then there are husbands who come walking.”
“You are definitely one from heaven, Waiguru stated.
Kirinyaga MCAs voted on 9th of June to impeach Governor Anne Waiguru with 23 Ward Representatives supporting the motion anchored on violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct.
However, she was cleared yesterday after an 11 member Senate committee found that two charges against the Governor including gross violation of the constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct were not substantiated.
The MCAs had accused Waiguru of failing to deliver the annual state of the county address for the financial year 2018/2019 to the County Assembly among other corruption charges.
