Monday June 8, 2020 – Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, is counting loses after the Registrar of Political Parties dealt him a career threatening blow.
Registrar Ann Nderitu officially gave notice to kick out Wetangula as Ford Kenya Party leader after he was overthrown last week by the party due to corruption and his inability to hold the party together.
She published a Gazette notice on Monday, June 8th, indicating that Kanduyi Member of Parliament, Athanas W. Wamunyinyi, will take over as the official leader of the party within 7 days in the absence of a dispute.
“Any person with written submissions concerning the intended change by the political party shall within 7 days from the date herein deposit them with the Registrar of Political Parties,” read part of the notice.
Wetangula was removed alongside the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Chris Mandu Mandu, who was replaced with Josephine Waungu.
He has since blamed ODM leader, Raila Odinga, for his woes at the helm of Ford Kenya.
