Tuesday June 2, 2020 – National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, has survived President Uhuru Kenyatta’s purge in the National Assembly.
This follows the meeting at State House on Tuesday that was chaired by Uhuru which saw a number of Deputy President William Ruto’s allies dropped from the House leadership positions.
In the changes announced by Uhuru in State House, Nairobi, National Assembly Majority Whip, Benjamin Washiali, and his deputy, nominated MP Cecily Mbarire, were kicked out.
Navakholo MP, Emmanuel Wangwe, replaced Washiali while Igembe North MP, Maoka Maore, replaced Mbarire.
The changes are expected to be communicated to the Speaker today.
The Jubilee PG also resolved to effect further changes at the House committees as part of the ongoing purge to kick out all MPs who do not support the President’s agenda.
