Saturday June 13, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto reportedly met Amani National Congress party (ANC) leader, Musalia Mudavadi, and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetangula, where they discussed the possible formation of a formidable coalition in 2022.
After the meeting, Ruto, Wetangula and Mudavadi formed a technical team to put some flesh into the details of the deal.
The technical committee comprises of Jubilee, ANC and Ford Kenya MPs.
“The meeting brought Jubilee (those from Western allies to the DP), ANC and Ford Kenya together.”
“We have agreed to join forces to address the challenges facing our people.”
“We have been treated badly and it is time this changed,” Mumias East MP, Ben Washiali, stated.
The technical team that was appointed will prepare a report to be submitted to the principals on the way forward.
Kimilili MP, Didmus Barasa, who was also in the two-hour meeting stated that because of the tribulations faced by the DP, there was no looking back.
“We will forward two names of those from the Jubilee side who will represent us in the committee,” he said.
Mudavadi and Wetangula are said to be happy with the deal.
