Tuesday, June 23, 2020 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is going ahead with the purge within the Jubilee Party by removing allies of Deputy President William Ruto from crucial positions in the Senate and National Assembly.
On Monday during a Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting, Uhuru and his men removed Garissa Town MP, Aden Duale, as the Majority Leader and replaced him with Kipipiri MP, Amos Kimunya.
Reports within the President’s circle indicate that the Head of State is planning to call for another crucial meeting that will culminate in the ouster of Soy MP, Caleb Kositany, as Jubilee Party’s Deputy Secretary General.
Kositany is a close ally of Ruto and has of late been a strong critic of the President and the entire leadership of the ruling party.
A senior Jubilee Party official hinted that Kositany’s fate will be sealed next week alongside other members who will be deemed “errant”.
“We cannot have amidst us a person who does not support the agenda and ideals of the party and continue keeping him, we are going to remove all of them,” said a Jubilee Party official who requested anonymity.
