Monday June 8, 2020 – Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly ordered the removal of furniture and cutlery from Weston Hotel fearing that the facility may be demolished by the Government.
The land on which the hotel stands was grabbed from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.
The parcel of land measuring 1.7 acres had been reportedly allocated to two companies associated with him on January 5, 1998, for a period of 99 years.
The directors of Weston Hotel are listed as William Ruto, Rachel Chebet Kimeto and Charlene Chelagat Ruto.
According to impeccable sources, Ruto is quietly carting away furniture from the property fearing that the Government of President Kenyatta may demolish the hotel without notice.
Residents who stay near the hotel say that they have been seeing lorries being loaded with property from the hotel and ferrying them to Ruto’s official residence in Karen.
In April this year, the Government moved to repossess a 1,600 acre piece of land in Ruai which has long been associated with Ruto.
The prime land on Kangundo Road in Nairobi is one of two parcels that has been taken back by the State for the expansion of Nairobi’s main sewerage plant.
