Tuesday June 16, 2020 – High Court Judge is currently on the spot after word went round that he was bribed by Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula, with Sh 2 million to reinstate him as the Ford Kenya party leader.
On Monday, Justice Makau suspended the implementation of a Gazette notice announcing the removal of Moses Wetang’ula as the Ford Kenya party leader.
In his ruling, Justice Makau directed the Registrar of Political Parties, Anne Nderitu not to acknowledge or transact the party’s business with Tongaren MP, Dr Eseli Simiyu, and Kanduyi MP, Wafula Wamunyinyi.
He directed the party to serve the Registrar, Simiyu and Wamunyinyi with its application ahead of the mention date on June 29th.
Ford Kenya’s National Executive Council resolved to dismiss Wetang’ula as the party leader on May 31st, 2020 on grounds of gross misconduct.
The party named Wamunyinyi as the acting Party Leader and Simuyu as party’s Secretary General.
