Sunday, June 14, 2020 – There were whispers on Thursday thatOrange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, met embattled Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru, and the two discussed the Governor’s impeachment motion which is at the floor of the Senate.
According to a source who spoke to the media in confidence, Waiguru met Raila Odinga just two days after she was impeached by Kirinyaga County Assembly over gross misconduct and violation of the constitution.
Waiguru met Raila in efforts to help save her job, which is hanging by a thread after she was impeached by the County Assembly.
The Senate will now have the final say on the matter, amid intense lobbying said to be taking place.
Mr. Odinga met Mrs. Waiganjo at an exclusive club in Karen, Nairobi, alongside a few aides, with the key agenda being whipping ODM and other “friendly” Senators to defeat the motion.
Ms Waiguru walked in a few minutes to 7pm accompanied by two aides.
Then Kiambu Governor James Nyoro and his Nyeri counterpart, Mutahi Kahiga, joined her before Mr Odinga and a few of his trusted MPs arrived.
However, Raila has disputed this story and said that he only met with Women Representative Waruguru and not Waiguru.
