Thursday, June 11, 2020 – Kenya has recorded 121 new Covid19 cases as three more succumb to the deadly virus.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 3,215.
The new cases were discovered from 3,291 samples that were analysed in the past 24 hours according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
115 of the 121 cases are Kenyan, with the youngest being a four-month-old infant and the oldest being 86.
The new cases are distributed as follows – Nairobi 49, Busia 37 and Mombasa 20, Kajiado 5, Migori 5, Kiambu and Kilifi 2 cases each, Muranga and Nyeri 1 case each.
On the bright side, 44 patients have completely recovered from the virus and have been discharged, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,092.
“We are happy that another 44 patients who recovered from COVID-19 were discharged from our hospitals, bringing our tally of recoveries to 1, 092.
“We want to thank all our healthcare workers for their dedication and commitment that has made this possible” said CS Kagwe.
However, three more patients succumbed, raising the death toll to 92.
